You might wonder why anyone would want to make their own calendars. Well, there may be thousands of choices out there, but only you understand your needs.
It could be you need to scratch a creative itch or there may be expectations which the current market does not adhere to.
It’s weird to have expectations of your calendars, but I find that I do. I would love one huge calendar I can fix behind my door so I can put all the stuff I need done on it.
Sometimes in all the craziness I lose track of which day of the week it is, not to mention which tasks I needed to get done. You know what would be really cool? If someone came up with an intelligent talking calendar, one you could discuss your week with (weird scientists that’s your cue).
Well, we’ll give inventors out there some time with that. In the meantime let’s have a look at some DIY calendar videos…
I absolutely love this idea. It’s something you can adapt easily, is low cost and you can do it as a project with your students or your own kids.
And you know what’s really great? You don’t have to throw it away at the end of the year! I’m so excited to try this one out.
OMG! This is like, so cool.
No really, it is. Because you’d be using white board markers you can easily make changes. And no worries about scratching out any mistakes and having a mess on your calendar.
This girl rocks! She has made something as mundane as a white board into an artful yet practical tool.
Having both the month and week on it is genius.
You know for this one, if you don’t have a metal tray, you could just use your fridge or one side of your metallic file cabinet.
I like how she customizes each month according to whatever holiday is relevant. Very artful and creative.
I really wanted to put up a video of a DIY perpetual calendar but I could not find one in which the actual making takes place.
No worries, the above videos are simply wonderful. I’m now so confused about which calendar I want to make. Maybe try all of them to see which one is a good fit?
